A Little About Emma, Meli Rats Owner

In my everyday life, I am a classical musician. I live with my husband and daughters in Evanston, IL.

I have been keeping rats for over 20 years. Breeding has been a lifelong goal, and I’m having a lot of fun having it come to fruition.

A Little About Janay, Our CoBreeder

Janay is our cobreeder. I’m so excited that she’s agreed to help raise litters for Meli Rats! Janay has owned rats since 1999 and raised litters for our mentor at Sweet Genes Rodentry for over ten years.

In addition to the ratties, she lives with her husband and two fabulous dogs, Baked Ziti the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and Mazikeen the Doberman Pinscher.
